Dick brings a track record of strategic and financial development of mid-sized companies through acquisition and internal growth. His 30 years of experience has included finance and accounting as a CFO, investment banking, and consulting.
He has managed award-winning manufacturing facilities, created successful startups and directed a series of lucrative acquisitions. Dick has successfully competed in the cosmetics and beauty industry, automotive parts and accessories, industrial products, consumer products packaging, B2B e-commerce and advertising media.
During his decade long career at Janas, he has directed a substantial number of Merger and Acquisition assignments. He has led transactions in medical manufacturing, petroleum distribution, specialty products manufacturing, auto parts manufacturing and distribution, electronic card manufacturers, and others.
Dick gained his post-MBA finance and acquisition training at W. R. Grace & Company where he specialized in consumer and automotive specialty businesses. At The Allen Group, a communications and automotive company, he mastered in-depth financial analysis, public reporting, operations planning, and international taxation, and served in the Controllers Department and as Director of Planning.
As CFO of The Equion Corporation and Caliber Packaging, Dick directed nine successful acquisitions that built both companies into highly profitable $150 million multinationals.
At Janas Associates, he has achieved above market multiples for a number of sell-side engagements; brought practical ideas to increase company valuations and innovative solutions to deal-breaking issues. Dick is adept at recognizing special situations that result in sale prices that exceed the market.
Dick has a keen appreciation for the process of selling and buying businesses from the perspective of his clients. Numerous clients have expressed their appreciation for his skills and knowledge.
Dick holds a Bachelors Degree from Yale University and an MBA degree from the Tuck School at Dartmouth College.
